Eat Well

fruit bowlHealthy eating plays an important role in the prevention of chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer, as well as maintaining a healthy weight.

Forty nine percent of the Australian working population has an inadequate intake of fruit and vegetables. Workplace health programs can address healthy eating by implementing a workplace nutrition policy and providing access to and improving availability of healthy food choices at work.

Have a look at the case study for the Department of Police and Emergency Management to see how they encourage their employees to eat well.
